Known as Chelsea Girl since 1993, this small vintage standby was reconceived as Laurel Canyon in 2009, specializing in seventies Westernwear. Original owner Elisa Casas—also the owner of City Girl Café and Chelsea Girl Couture nearby—teamed up with college friend David Munk, stocking the racks with sixties frocks and an impressive array of cowboy boots from brands like Old Gringo, Dan Post, ACME, and Nocona. Photos of musicians deck the green walls (Munk worked in the music industry for twenty years), and Eagles, Neil Young, and Joni Mitchell records play overhead. Soft cotton tees, flowing sundresses, and tiered skirts from labels like Young Edwardian and Gunne Sax draw boho, sixties-inspired shoppers, and the menswear corner offers denim jackets and Western shirts of all varieties.
