After helming two successful boutiques on Christopher Street, Korean-born Kyung Lee decided to bring her feminine sensibilities to an area not known for charm or sweetness: South Street Seaport. Just like her other shops, this one is named after one of the three maidens in François Sagan’s Bonjour Tristesse, a choice that aptly dictates the store's darling themes in relatively unknown designers (Alice Ritter, Christopher Deane) and the antique vases displayed in a cavernous space that miraculously recalls a twenties salon. And with a selection of soaps and products from the ancient Florentine apothecary Santa Maria Novella alongside eclectic estate-sale and flea-market finds, this boutique promises much more than nice rags on wrought-iron racks.
