Elias Lifshitz hails from Mexico City, where he operated a store for fifteen years before transplanting it to Manhattan in 1968. Every week, he scours estate sales and flea markets to fill this Upper East Side nook with odds and ends like lamps, hardware, and the occasional end table. It’s a haphazard collection, occasionally yielding a really good find. But Lifshitz’s main business is new and restored antique watches; he sells a wide variety of brands--including Rolex and Cartier--and does repairs. Also an artist, Lifshitz appoints his space with his bronze sculptures inspired by the human form, ranging from one to five feet tall, and occasionally will display one of his abstract expressionist paintings.
