New York socialite Lilly Pulitzer became a fashion star in the fifties when she moved to Palm Beach and started selling vibrant resort wear in her signature pink and green. The threads that hang in her two-story Madison Avenue boutique haven’t changed much over the decades, and neither has the clientele of ladies who lunch—and summer in the Hamptons, Cape Cod, and Palm Beach. Here, they can scoop up A-line and halter dresses in loud floral prints or bright solid hues adorned with ladylike bows or kitschy embroidery in the shape of coconuts, iguanas, anchors, and nautical ropes.
