Profile
This diminutive, urbane boutique has been catering to generations of Upper East Siders. Indeed, not much has changed since the old days: Inquiries are still handled by telephone, purchases are still painstakingly wrapped, and nothing ever goes on sale. But even if you’re not an heiress, the matronly staffers are happy to let you take your time hunting for just the right camisole or bra among neatly labeled cubbies which read like a Who’s Who of European lingerie: Aubade, Cosabella, Pluto, Lejaby, Wolford... The hosiery section is small but diverse, with matte-sheer stockings by Donna Karan, everyday hose by Hanes, and Spanx’s stomach-smoothers. In addition to an ample array of sleepwear and underwear, the rotating stock also might include Anna Moi’s playful lingerie bags, Manuel Canovas’s splurgy swimwear; and Audrey Talbott’s ruffled tuxedo-style button downs.
Key Departments
BridalThis neighborhood shop stocks ready-to-wear smooth, strapless corsets from Le Mystère that will please brides who want to avoid the hassle of having something custom-made. There’s also a fine selection of other underpinnings, from basic stockings to very lacy white panties. Treat yourself to a lace-trimmed silk chemise by Andres.
