Lisa Levine’s handcrafted jewelry juxtaposes organic and architectural elements, mixing old coins, porcupine quills, and feathers with sterling silver, fourteen-karat gold, and vermeil. From her sparse, stylish shop and studio in Williamsburg, she produces new collections every few months and also accepts requests for custom pieces like engagement rings. Although she studied painting and sculpting at Parsons and at the California College of Arts and Crafts, Levine derives inspiration from the year she spent between schools at an artist community in Mexico, making jewelry and perfecting her silversmith techniques. Influences from both landscapes are evident in her pieces, giving the creations a rustic yet elegant look. The shop also occasionally doubles as a gallery, when Levine exhibits the work of local artists alongside her own wares.
