This whimsical, hands-on crafting shop has drawn Yorkville’s DIY set since 1992. Creative types gather around an intimate, communal table, painting pottery, arranging colorful mosaics, stringing beaded jewelry, or decorating T-shirts. Dozens of fanciful tchotchkes shaped like animals, sports gear, princesses, cars, and more are available for painting alongside giftable home accents like plates, bowls, and vases. Colorless clay creations ranging from mugs to picture frames can be decorated, stamped, stenciled, and sealed in the kiln. Mosaic artists are spared the dirty work—after arranging crushed tiles, the store’s staff will supply and spread the grouting. Those looking to pick up a new hobby can drop in for hour-long art classes in watercolor painting or beading, and adults looking to indulge their inner child can unwind among their own—Wednesday through Friday evenings are designated for grown-ups only, complete with complimentary wine.
