Floral and event designer Lewis Miller says his favorite room is a rustic, earthy manor house kitchen, and his studio on East 12th Street is the closet thing you’ll find to that in Alphabet City. A California farm boy trained in horticulture and landscape, Miller finds inspiration in nature’s wild side, so his lush floral arrangements are exquisitely disarrayed. There’s nothing prim about them. His downtown studio, LMD Floral, does floral and event planning for fashion, publishing, and interior design firms, as well as for private events be they weddings or 10-person dinner parties.Weddings
Lewis Miller’s luxurious designs have a European aesthetic, fixed somewhere between the Middle Ages and the eighteenth century. The native of California farm country scours the flower market for unusual specimens. (He leans toward the moody, dark, and dramatic.) Prices upon request.
