Louis Feraud dressed the women of Dynasty in the eighties, and remnants of that series’ glitzy pantsuits can still be found in the late designer’s lines. Despite the store’s long, white, runway-inspired floor and a television flashing a fashion-show loop, the clothing itself is anything but esoteric, high fashion. The attire looks more suited for the workingwoman, with cotton pants and matching blazers in half a dozen colors. Instead of avant-garde cuts, all pieces are tailored to a close-fitting silhouette and, aside from the jeans and a single rack of fancy evening wear, most items look as if they would be appropriate at either a casual dinner or an important board meeting. Some items, such the flower-adorned pants and sassy spaghetti-strap dresses, even bring to mind a ladies-who-lunch aesthetic—appropriate for the boutique’s Madison Avenue location.
