Owned by the Naples-based Borrelli family, this upscale boutique is known for its slim, elegant suiting. Set apart from the work of more stolid English haberdasheries, Luigi Borrelli jackets feature unpadded, soft-fitting shoulders, slightly tapered sleeves, and slightly smaller-than-usual armholes that make for a trim, stylish look. Standards like tuxes and suits are available on relatively short notice; after their manufacture in Italy, suits are customized by resident tailors in an upstairs studio. A more dressed-down line of clothes—think tangerine and lime-colored cotton trousers, rumpled cotton button-ups, and lightweight linen suits—appear in time for the laid-back summer months, while a line of sleek, fashionable overcoats keeps things stylish in winter. Accessories such as loafers, ties, cuff links, and Borrelli’s own citrus-and-wood “Blue Royal” fragrance round out the collection. The centerpiece of the store, though, is a pair of beautiful Capri vases that hold an assortment of wood-handled umbrellas.
