This small but singular gallery has attracted customers like Sarah Jessica Parker and Scarlett Johansson to its corner of the South Street Seaport Mall. Owner Marshall Hill specializes in making art out of the bodies of brightly colored, tropical butterflies. A twist on the classic pinned specimens on a board, his pieces are mural-like collages of butterflies that appear to be caught in mid-flight, an illusion encouraged by his use of clear Lucite frames. The unbelievably hued butterflies come from all over the world, like the lapis blue Morphos from Brazil and the candy red Cymothoe from Africa. There are even a few moths, such as the tawny brown Owl species. Rest assured: All the delicate beauties died a natural death on a breeder farm, and Hill uses no endangered species in his creations. — Kelly McMasters
