After 24 years in business, Inatome has honed her specialty: slender mermaid gowns. This airy 3,000-square-foot loft is filled with more than 300 chic, modern dresses in floaty, fine textiles—silk, satin, crêpe, and chiffon ($1,700 to $5,000). Everything, including embroidery and beading, is done by hand. By appointment only.

finding the perfect wedding dress

Finding Mika was the start of everything falling perfectly into place for my wedding plans. I knew instantly I wanted to be wearing one of her dresses, each are quite unique yet all reflect her style which is so elegantly feminine yet sophisticated and simply glamourous. I was lucky and happened to fall in love with a sample that was perfect for me. But the best was the entire experience of coming to her loft for the fittings, kicking back and relaxing, with no other customers around but me. She tailored the dress to my liking (and gave me an hour glass figure) and helped me accessorize the look I wanted with earrings and including creating small feather pieces for my hair. It truly was special. Thank you so much Mika - I got so many sincere compliments on my wedding day. And total coincidence, on that day, I found out a good friend who is getting married a few months later is also having her dressed designed by Mika! great minds think alike... I can't wait to see her dress soon!

I feel so lucky that I came across Mika. Mika custom designed me such a special gown. It was filled with so much sentimentality, I hope it will become a family heirloom. Mika's studio is the opposite of a typical bridal salon. It is calm, airy and comfortable there. Mika makes you feel like you are her only client - you always work 1 on 1 with her directly. If you are the type of person who likes something a bit different, or handmade details, then look no further. Everything is made right here in NYC, from organic materials. MIka's dresses are one of the best deals in New York!
