This venue is closed. While traveling in Israel, sisters Vivian Reisman and Rita Lerner, who happen to have kids the same age, discovered the country’s popular label Mish Mish, which means "apricot" in Hebrew. In 2007, they opened the first Stateside store devoted to the beachy, bohemian line with cool details like screen prints and appliqués. Upper East Siders and tourists from nearby museums browse the tiny shop’s eclectic, colorful selection for newborns through size 7 for boys and size 10 for girls. Spotted on Madonna's kids, the soft cotton pieces with European cuts (sizes run smaller than in American clothing) include ruffled bikinis, tie-dyed and tiered dresses, bright hoodies, and long surfer shorts. Layettes are also on hand, as well as denim skirts, shorts, and pants and a small but fun shoe assortment from names like Pediped, Converse, and Crocs.
