If Pink were a women's clothing-boutique owner instead of a musician, she'd be Samantha Keegan, the pop-punk proprietress and headmistress of the store-meets-reform-school-for-girls called Missbehave. Samantha is a woman obsessed—obsessed with her misspent youth, with further misspending her adulthood, and with sharing these experiences and their related accoutrements with her clientele. "Maybe I have a bad-girl attitude," she says. "But with my customers I'll be their BFF." With her store, Keegan has created a little pocket of suburban high school smack in the middle of the Lower East Side: Lockers line the back of the shop, a teacher’s desk serves as the cash/wrap area, and all of the furnishings look like they’ve been salvaged from a Peoria public school district liquidation sale. The clothes and accessories, like owner herself, demonstrate extreme nostalgia for the 1980s. Color and sparkle are everywhere, from the mini skirts to the off-the-shoulder tops, which are flirty but never fragile—the girls' answer to guys' urban street wear. Graphic T-shirts embrace the aesthetic of the graffiti artists with whom the proprietress hangs, proclaiming such bad girl-maxims as "Drink Beer/Smoke Weed/Have Sex/Missbehave." And handcuff necklaces in silver or gold are a popular item, while mini Pabst Blue Ribbon-can earrings are surely the most awesome.

Something's always on sale, and there are bigger end-of-season sale events in late winter and summer.
