Spain’s MNG by MANGO has all the disposable trends of an H&M—but only some of the rock-bottom prices. Penélope Cruz and her sister, Monica, both model and design limited collections for the worldwide women’s fashion giant. The sprawling, clubby Soho outpost is designed to evoke a fashion show, with mannequins arranged on a raised, store-spanning runway, mirrored walls, and a booming electro-pop soundtrack. Crowds of teens and loyal international fans browse the assortment of neon denim miniskirts, silk-screened tees, brightly patterned cotton sundresses, and basic cardigan sets in a range of colors. Although the affordable apparel favors simply constructed cotton dresses and shirts, bold prints and beaded details inject teen-pleasing flair. Prices for the seasonal limited-edition designs are often double that of the regular collection, but the passable denim section features regular sales on jeans for well under $100.
