It's only fitting this boutique—named for Paris’ onetime artists’ mecca—is a melting pot of contemporary fashion design. A regular spot for those unwilling to scour shoebox-size stores for a little downtown edge, the uptown chain gives Phillip Lim, M Missoni, and Chaiken dresses just as much rack presence as shifts by smaller names like Milly, Walter, and Shoshanna. Though frocks are Montmartre’s bread and butter, ranging from about $115 to $600, the creative corporate set can stop in for Theory trousers and Trina Turk blouses, whose subtle embellishments hint at the party girl within. J.Brand jeans and bright, casual staples by Free People and Splendid provide relaxed, weekender style for brunch with the girls.
