Linked to the Moss accessories shop by a low-slung interior arch, this 3,800-square-foot store is devoted to the edgy and pricey designs of Italian furniture brand Moroso. Founded in 1952 in Udine, on the country’s northern coast, this is the brand’s first retail outlet in the world. All of the products are created by international designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Ron Arad, Ross Lovegrove, Marc Newson, Tord Boontje, and Konstantin Grcic. A lipstick-red polyurethane foam-and-steel “Bloomy” chair sits jauntily atop a white platform; a spiderlike, fully recyclable “Victoria & Albert” table perches nearby; and a hand-painted “Hello Lovely” mirror hangs prettily on a far wall. In addition to the furniture collection, the richly patterned fabrics of textile company Maharam fill the shelves and are available in cut yardage or for use in customizing the furniture.
