Profile

Moulin Bleu began with a single chair that owner Adelle Kelley happened upon near her old home in northern Italy. Following this find, she set out to collect and sell the European furnishings and home accoutrements she had always adored. Her mix of old and new—from reproductions of classic French china patterns to century-old antique chairs with the original upholstery intact—has European patrons pledging they feel 100 percent at home in the Tribeca space she patterned after her favorite boutiques in the south of France. Offering everything from exceptional flea market finds like original-framed artwork, to the finest in handwoven table and bed linens, Kelley prides herself on bringing together the highest quality and most diverse collection possible. In her semi-annual trips to the French markets just south of Paris, Kelley scours for lesser-known artisans and vendors who have their thumb on the next hot European decorating trend—like Venetian-cut glass or ornate candelabras—that will keep her customers one step ahead of the curve.
