Profile
The two New York branches of this Italian children’s-footwear franchise are owned by the solicitous Jae Lee, who himself sports Naturino kicks (some of which go up to about an American size nine). The shoes, all of which are European-made, come in a huge variety of styles, from tiny tykes’ Velcro sneaks to ballet flats for fashion-forward preteens. Most of the shoes are inspired by popular adult varieties like Clarks desert boots, Teva sandals, and Nike running shoes; but there’s also a smattering of brandless classics like wingtips and penny loafers for dressier occasions. For parents who feel the financial strain of outfitting their children’s ever-growing feet, there are regular end-of-season sales. Right next door, Greenstones (also owned by Lee) carries upscale children’s threads from the likes of Diesel, Miniman, and Kenzo.
