Profile

This venue is closed.

At a tiny 300 square feet in size, this Park Slope women’s wear boutique feels a bit like the walk-in closet of some wonderfully stylish, eclectic, and ever-so-slightly-bohemian woman of taste. The shop’s clothing, jewelry, handbags, hats, and other sundry accessories represent the work of more than fifty different vendors, many of them local, and all hand-picked by store owner Néda Meier, a former accessories designer herself. When Meier opened the shop, she looked for designers the old-fashioned way—at trade shows and the like—but she also posted an ad on Craigslist; the result is a truly unique and varied collection. There are vintage-style beaded clutches in rich colors but also geometric black leather handbags that wouldn’t be out of place at the MoMA Design Store. Jewelry and shoes demonstrate a similar range, with everything from chunky wooden bracelets and casual flip-flops to sleek silver earrings and girly mules. Meier stocks several lines of denim (Salt Works, Level 99, Tyler Skye, Serfontaine), but the focus is more on contemporary, femme skirts, dresses, and tops, all in interesting materials and textures and featuring great detailing. The looks are right for a fashion-forward office environment, but even better for going out for a particularly arty evening.
