Profile
One of the biggest names on the London fashion scene, Nicole Farhi has grown into a full lifestyle brand, making her mark on men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, ceramics, tableware and linens. Each elegantly designed boutique features natural, unfinished wood shelves and displays based around organic shapes—subtle, muted backgrounds for the collection of elegant, mid-calf length dresses in island-inspired prints and smart trousers paired with gossamer-thin blouses. For men, Farhi favors slouchy, schoolboy looks like striped cardigans and corduroy pants. Sleek housewares reflect the designer’s refined, nature-derived aesthetic, like mugs made from hand-crafted porcelain and gorgeous placemats of aligned glass rods. Patrons linger at Farhi’s inimitable in-store cafes: Uptown, power brokers tuck into three-course lunches near an open kitchen, while downtown, shaggy British expats nurse (or nurture) their hangovers at the intimate, wooden bar.
