Chinatown meets Brooklyn at this seafood market, which co-exists just a few doors down from an unrelated Asian fishmonger, Park Slope Seafood. This sprawling shop’s loyal clients come for fresh anglers, whole and filleted, and sea creatures from cockles to live lobsters. Completing the Canal Street experience, the market stocks a host of Asian foods including sushi grade rice, glass noodles, and chili pastes—but also carries the necessary rubs and batters for a good ol’ American fish fry. A freezer contains Japan’s Maeda-en ice cream plus gyoza and shumai. A sushi chef crafts rolls you can eat on the spot at one of the few in-store tables.
