Optometrist Amy Poran and optician Amir Poran have been providing state-of-the-art eye exams and one-on-one eyewear consultations at their quiet, high-end stores in Brooklyn since 1999. With locations in Carroll Gardens and Williamsburg, Oculus offers numerous artful frame styles, from French celebrity fave Robert Marc and rhinestone-studded Francis Klein to lightweight, screw-less Mykita and IC Berlin. Custom frames by German makers Lunor and Freudenhaus are handcrafted from sturdy, hard-to-find buffalo horn.
