This label's sizable earth-toned flagship in Soho evokes the type of mall gear one might find at Gap Republic & Fitch, but a closer look at the merchandise reveals a more nuanced take on men's clothing. Onassis, powered by design teams in New York and Tokyo, was founded with the mission to create the perfect woven shirt, but somewhere along the way the brand decided to expand that same craftsmanship and ethos into a fully fleshed-out line of casual menswear. The aesthetic is a loose blend of rugged and chic, as demonstrated by the collection's deep stock of Japanese denim vests, knit sweatshirts, three-button wool blazers, pocket T-shirts, canvas totes, and the like. If the duds in the dressing room start to feel too basic, there's no shortage of jersey scarves, patterned ties, striped vests, and other such garments to provide the sometimes-drab outfits with some (relatively) dramatic flair.
