London designer Orla Kiely’s first American boutique is made for the demure pattern-lover. Kiely is best known for her leaf-print accessories, and her clean, white space is bedecked with flowery wallpapered alcoves and tastefully colored towels, stationery, and other home goodies. High ceilings and bare white walls balance the pockets of color, and the hardwood floor and wooden craft trees give the room an almost rustic feel. Leather bags in classic silhouettes sit on shelves alongside cheerful silk scarves and patterned clutches. Kiely’s prim ready-to-wear collection is housed in the back, complete with the shift dresses and Peter Pan blouses of Alexa Chung fame. And while Kiely’s silk dresses and tailored coats are a splurge, shoppers can easily walk away with affordable (and adorable) mugs and notebooks with her signature leaves.
