Since 1916, Oxxford has been outfitting cultural elite of all kinds in handmade threads, from JFK to Jay-Z. Customers begin by choosing among the four basic looks–grey, grey stripe, navy, and navy stripe. Conspicuously absent is the classic black suit, which manager George Mattos dismisses as too simple to bother with. Once they’ve selected a look, clients examine fabric swatches and decide among options like Titanium wool and linen and a rainbow of silk-lining colors. The suits are built to last, as each can be let out up to two sizes. But for those reluctant to go through two fittings, wait five to six weeks, and drop $4,000 for an original suit, there are $2,000-off-the-rack pieces, which can be tweaked to measurement specs within a week.
SalesTwice a year, end-of-season sale means up to 50% off selected suits.
