Profile

Since 1976, this intimate boutique has offered an assortment of feminine, tailored apparel fit for a night out. The oblong space is stocked by husband-wife team Lenny and Yolanda Variano; she was the former manager of West Village antique-clothing boutique Odds West. Although the pair originally sold vintage as well, they gradually abandoned dated styles to focus on the new. Yolana cherry-picks items from the collections of 35 emerging and established designers with an eye for classic silhouettes and antique-inspired prints, refreshing the selection on a weekly basis. Long racks span the shop’s turquoise walls, displaying shirtdresses by Nougat, billowy floral skirts from Plenty by Tracy Reese, Black Halo’s sleek cocktail dresses, silk blouses from Eva Franco, and cropped jackets by Chace. Near the back, orderly shelves are stacked with high-quality, layerable basics like Lilla P’s silky pima-cotton tees and tanks. For accessories, Wendy Mink’s delicate beaded jewelry fills glass cases by the register.
