Pants And … may well be the most misnamed store in New York. What started as a jeans shop back in 1976 has, in recent decades, taken to only stocking garments that fall within the category of “theme clothing:” Think NYC hoodies, skyscraper socks, and fitted Sex and The City tees. “I heart New York” pajama bottoms and boxers are also available, but search as you may, no proper pants are to be found. Tchotchkes, however, such as skyline snow globes and subway mouse pads draw in scores of Rock Center and Radio City tourists, as do the store’s surprisingly high-end mementos like limited edition New York-themed lithographs. During Christmas tree season, the souvenir shop extends its hours and stocks a vast selection of Big Apple ornaments. — Eve Gerber
