Thank heavens it’s back. When it first opened on Perry Street in 1997, Papivore was the kind of store that sold pink note cards printed with MON PETIT CHOU and customized stationery in unusual color combinations for very reasonable prices. Then its wholesale grew so fast it made more sense to shutter the shop and focus on that end of the business. But in November 2004, Papivore reopened for walk-ins. It would be a shame to order white note cards with a navy address there; not that it couldn’t be done, but why waste the potential? Here’s where you can order up some pale-green note cards printed in lavender ink, and toy with the idea of having a correspondence with a friend that doesn’t involve the symbol @.

This small, colorful shop features brightly hued European papers, which you can have custom-printed. Look for foil-stamped and letterpress-printed invitations, which offer a fresh, modern alternative to classic script-on-cream invites.
