A local chain with dozens of locations, P.C. Richard & Son’s Manhattan superstores are mobbed with bargain-hunting families on weekends hauling out everything from air conditioners to space heaters. Though you might think of the chain for its huge selection of appliances (washers, dryers, microwaves), the stores have a very decent array of extremely reasonably priced consumer electronics items, including laptops and flat-screen TVs. Ranges, air conditioners, mixers, CD players, you name it. Bonuses: a highly competent staff, and new stores opening all the time.
