Profile

Set on the eighth floor of a Flatiron district office building, this showroom caters to professionals with mostly used high-resolution digital and 35mm Leica cameras that can’t be found at big-box stores. The staff can help students and pros alike find the right photo setup, whether it be a Canon 5D, a sophisticated portrait and landscape camera, or a Leica M8 (a quiet digital version of the Leica that’s good for reportage). Prices reach up to five digits for a Hasselblad digital back model, though there are also a few simpler point-and-shoot styles for three figures. The shop is the only American distributor of Japanese company Artisan & Artists’ bags, cases, and camera straps made of leather, canvas, and silk, and it carries a few luxury watches by Panerai and F.P. Journe to boot. Store clerks can also perform high-end negative scans in the adjoining workshop or arrange for customers to do it themselves.
