Grace Kang, a former buyer for Bloomingdale's, Saks and Barneys, opened this cozy 500-square-foot East Village shop in May 2007. The name reflects both Kang’s love of olives and the favorite color of her young niece, whose watercolor painting of a butterfly accents the quaint space’s exposed-brick, shabby-chic décor. Louis Spitton and Pradada onesies, animal-shaped soaps, themed journals, colorful stuffed animals from Moroccan brand Zid Zid, and vintage-inspired jewelry from local designer Erica Weiner all are playful without being overly cute. Not only is everything there super cute, but the service is impeccable! I have purchased from the store several times for friends who has just had a baby. At one point I ordered something that happened to be out of stock. I got a personal email with suggestions of what else they had, and they even offered to email the friend to whom I was sending the gift something cute, to let her know it was on the way. How awesome is that!?
