Skate shop Reciprocal earns its street cred with boards designed by local artists, gory paintings decking the walls, and, inexplicably, an out-of-commission toilet as its centerpiece. The small shop offers affordable gear for skaters of all skill levels, from pro boards by brands like Girl Chocolate, Traffic, and Death Wish to shop boards. Stylish streetwear for both sexes fills low racks, including threads by both local designers and name brands like Enjoi and Spitfire. Nearby shelves bear messenger bags, beanies, and street-art books. But the shop’s main draw is its house line of Canadian hard-rock maple skateboards, designed collaboratively by store clerks and New York artists like James De La Vega, with new graphics debuting every couple of months.
