With its pastel walls and airy ambience, Roam seems at first a thoughtful Upper West Side gift shop, offering a large selection of letter-pressed note cards by Egg Press and Snow & Graham, a wall of sweetly delicate necklaces and earrings, and a precious collection of home-oriented hostess gifts like bone-handle serving utensils and nickel-plated wine-bottle coasters. But beyond the "big girl" front room, Roam morphs into a delightful children's boutique, with affordable, mix-and-match separates for sizes infant to 6. Onesies by Tea Collection, coveted Trumpette baby socks, graphic summer dresses by Paulina Quintana, and a bewitching herd of Jellycat stuffed animals will tickle both mommies and tots all over Amsterdam Avenue.
