This bright sporting goods store targets triathletes on the market for luxury gear. SBR is short for swim, bike, run, and the interactive shop takes all three activities seriously. For swimmers, the store sells neoprene rubber wetsuits from brands like Blueseventy and Orca ($150 to $700), and an in-store current pool allows patrons to take the suits for a test swim. One-on-one swimming lessons and stroke analyses are also offered in-store. Runners can peruse the wall of light, comfortable sneakers by Asics and Zoot, as well as orderly rows of lycra apparel, heart rate monitors, and transition bags. Cyclists can have one of the race-oriented road and mountain bikes from brands like Trek and Cervela personally fitted on the spot. SBR also carries state-of-the-art Sidi shoes, which clip into bike peddles. While most of the durable athletic apparel is upscale, SBR also sells its own line of T-shirts printed with discipline-minded slogans like “This is your therapy,” and “Hungry by choice.”
