The sophistication of Settepani’s decor carries over to the elegantly garnished cakes—strawberry shortcake, blood orange mousse and triple-decker chocolate—and cookies such as the mini Linzer tarts and half-chocolate-covered hearts. Nuts are a prominent ingredient in many of the sweets, like the soft amaretti and pignoli cookies as well as the plum almondeen tarts. In addition to muffins, croissants and turnovers, the bakery makes several varieties of Italian bread, in rounds and long filoni loaves; the puffy buns of focaccia are topped with rosemary, onion, olive or tomato. Settepani also sells wedding cakes (and special occasion cards), but appeals to simpler tastes with espresso and a small selection of gelato.
