This well-stocked art-supply store has been supplying top-of-the-line paints, oil pastels, and custom-built canvases and frames to Soho artists for over a decade. The shop caters to professionals, carrying paint from time-tested brands, like Williamsburg and M. Graham, that you won’t find at the nearby DIY mecca Pearl Paint. Watercolor sets and vats of turpentine, resin, and linseed oil line the entryway, as well as a vibrant array of oil paints ranging from .5 fl oz. bottles to full gallons. Above the merchandise, the wall is covered with still-life paintings from local artists like Luis Colan. Canvases are stacked in orderly rows, made as small as 1 by 2 inches. Giftable Moleskine notebooks, sketch pads, and art journals are propped on shelves near the register. In back, massive rolls of white, grey, and cream canvas are custom cut to size. Artists often bring in rolled paintings, which the staff unfurls and fits into frames on 25-year-old stretchers.
