The original Sound Fix opened in late April 2004 on the northern, somewhat forgotten edge of Williamsburg, and quickly become a hub for music-obsessed locals and minor musical celebrities. In 2009 the venue moved to a renovated 90-year-old factory one block over with more space to house its listening booths, vinyl rarities, and terrifically edited CD selection of local bands, soul, and electronica. The owner keeps new CD prices at about $14 and sells tickets to local shows.
