Spoiled Brats’ narrow storefront conceals a long space crammed floor-to-ceiling with pet products that are a little more upscale than the fare at Petco. Much of the Hell’s Kitchen store is devoted to vittles of every stripe. Though many of the food brands are mainstream names like Iams and Merrick, others are far from typical—consider Primal, a frozen raw-food blend of hormone-free chicken and omega-rich salmon. Pet owners can also find Arm & Hammer kitty litter, Wee-Wee absorbent house-training pads, and Votivo scented candles, plus hanging displays of large stuffed chew toys—wooly mammoths, pink flamingos, and George W’s among them. Those still seeking a pet to spoil can visit the volunteer-staffed lean-to in a far corner of the store that houses the Anjellicle Cats Rescue Adoption Center.
