East meets West—Coast, that is—in the slacker chic of this California-based company. A perennial favorite of the surf and skate crowd, Stüssy has integrated elements of prep and hip-hop into its line, making it as appropriate for the Hamptons and the O.C. You can still find their trademark board shorts and cargo pants, but a collection of plaids, terry cloth, and collared shirts show that these skater boys are all grown up. The store’s concrete floors help evoke the feeling of walking into a well-lit garage, and, in fact, the graphic-heavy tees suggest an early-90s garage band’s favorite threads. Almost anything—sweatshirts, key chains, stickers for your board—is available emblazoned with the shop’s graffiti-inspired logo.Extra
Trendy but functional wallets, bags, and luggage from Stussy partner, Head Porter are upstairs in a bright-white loft, along with backpacks and macho man-purses.
