The first New York location from Surface to Air, a French creative collective that’s produced everything from music videos to restaurants, this 2,300-square-foot space puts the group’s clothing collection on full display. Previously available at Barneys and Bloomingdale’s, the line has developed a cult following over the years, particularly for its collaborations with Kim Gordon, Leigh Lezark, and Kid Cudi. At the simple, industrial space (designed in collaboration with architect Federico Masotto) clothing hangs from racks lined up against the white brick walls, all of it surrounding a large bunker-like display of accessories and shoes. For men, expect skinny jeans, knitwear, flannels, and even the occasional fitted velvet suit, while women’s offerings include loose sweaters, form-fitting dresses, and unique jumpers. There’s also a selection of childrenswear.
