Helmed by a Parsons grad who goes by, simply, “B,” this fashion-forward streetwear boutique offers denim, tanks, and tees for both sexes. The East Village shop borders First Avenue’s bustling nightlife strip, and B stays open late to cater to those stopping in for an outfit before hitting the bars (or, later, those on booze-fueled shopping sprees). The décor presents an eclectic ode to style icons, with posters of Jimi Hendrix, Audrey Hepburn, and Muhammad Ali covering an aqua-blue wall, along with candid photographs. Indie fashion magazines are stacked on a corner table for browsing. The men’s selection extends beyond graphic tees, offering plaid button-downs from WESC, Modern Amusement striped cardigans, V-neck basics from Yoko Deveraux, and Le Tigre jackets. Women’s apparel is mixed in among the racks, with colorful, versatile tanks from L.A. Made and layerable tees. But the real draw is the denim, with various washes from hard-to-find brands like the Proportion of Blu, Rich & Skinny, and Henry III Generation.
