In addition to being one of the better-stocked craft-beer stores in New York, Growler Station also uses the latest technology to proffer its goods. There are more than 300 types of bottled beer available, but the shop’s real specialty is the varying selection of 24 beers served from state-of-the-art Pegas Craft Taps, which allow unopened growlers to stay fresh for months at a time. The store is set up with the taps on one side and refrigerators housing a variety of cans and bottles of mostly American craft beers on the other. Snacks—pickles, chips, salsa, hot sauce, and beef jerky—are also available. They host beer tastings two-to-four times a week and offer specials on Tuesdays. Growler Station also has its own app, which includes its entire beer database and suggestions for food pairings.
