Profile
The classic work-boot brand gets a modern makeover with this 2,000-square-foot flagship, opened in March 2009. The ecoconscious space has a rustic, throwback feel, with shelves built of salvaged wood and dated details like iron wheels and scuffed vintage suitcases. A raised platform near the entryway is dedicated entirely to footwear, with a selection of nature-tone loafers, boat shoes, work boots, and sandals for both sexes. Racks farther back are filled with casual, comfy apparel for the guy’s guy, with a focus on basic polos in dozens of shades, plaid button-downs, cargo shorts, and hooded sweatshirts emblazoned with the Timberland logo. Lightweight-leather bomber jackets and dark-wash denim provide dressier options. Girlfriends and kids can lounge on leather couches in the center of the store, and a pair of computers is hooked up for speedy browsing.
