The wooden display cases lining this tiny Park Slope shop are full of glittering jewels that are both earthy and ethereal. Hand-cut stones, crystals, and glass beads dangling from impossibly delicate chains glow under the store’s warm lighting, and mellow music from groups like Zero 7 plays overhead. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and other baubles are handcrafted by designers like Lower East Side favorite Wendy Mink, who favors gold vermeil, resin, and sterling silver and incorporates natural shapes such as leaves and birds. Angie Olami creates incredibly luminous pieces from Roman glass shards that date back 2,000 years, and Avindy, a mother-daughter design duo, displays combinations of hammered and antiqued metals and semiprecious stones that are both vintage and African-inspired. Other offerings include small gift items like votives, hair accessories, bejeweled journals, and a limited selection of leather handbags. The store also carries a limited selection of watches from the Danish label Skagen, as well as from Wenger, the makers of the Swiss Army Knife—timepieces that appear surprisingly solid and utilitarian when juxtaposed with the cases of lacy, intricate jewels.
