Trina Turk’s California upbringing and background designing surf wear for Ocean Pacific inspires her collections of carefree, upbeat dresses, tops, trousers, and psychedelic swimwear. The brand, which also has Los Angeles and Palm Springs stores, adheres to a sixties- and seventies-influenced beachwear style. Designer Jonathan Adler envisioned the 2,500-square-foot shop, which itself feels like an airy beach house with its white wide-paneled wooden floors, skylights, and exposed rafters. The store’s retro olive, burnt orange, mustard, and turquoise color scheme accents the breezy cotton and silk dresses with bright colors and swirling patterns. A small selection of dandyish menswear is available in the back near the women’s sale items. And up front are several cases of jewelry and a few Trina Turk candles and gift items. — Rachel Corbett
