Frustrated with the imprecise fits and size-skewed selection at most designer denim boutiques, former Los Angeles television producer Katie Campbell opened this custom denim shop in 2008. Here she stocks jeans and apparel in sizes 00 to 16, including cult brands Dallin Chase and Cloak & Dagger, for which she is the exclusive carrier in plus-sizes. Around 20 styles of jeans from lines like Guido and Mary, James Jeans, and Beija Flor cover one of the shop’s pale gray walls, and a sophisticated collection of Hamptons-ready silk sundresses, trench coats, and Vandalborne’s upscale shirtdresses hang beneath framed illustrations from Vogue. Perched at a sewing machine near the curtained-off fitting room, an on-site tailor does free alterations in half an hour while lingering shoppers browse a small assortment of Kale calfskin clutches and delicate, lace-embellished lingerie. — Lauren Murrow
