Very often, customers who wander into this West Village men’s and women’s clothing and accessories store feel like they’ve stumbled upon an undiscovered little jewel box—“but they don’t realize that we’ve been here since 1984!” laments owner Kevin Kelly. And in fact, Shop Untitled is neither terribly small—the boutique’s two floors stock clothing, bags, belts, jewelry, shoes, and hats for men upstairs, and women downstairs—nor all that unknown; it enjoys a following among music industry insiders and has been frequented by more than a few rock stars. When Kelly opened up shop, they originally featured the designs of Britain’s newest names, later adding French and Italian styles and, more recently, premium American denim.
