Profile

With indie-rock tunes blaring on the sound system, gaggles of stylishly scrawny post-punk sales associates stationed on the floor, and stacks of trendy street looks rolling out each season, Urban Outfitters has been an arbiter of youth style since 1970. Preteens, college kids, and young suburbanites flock to this split-level, national-chain emporium for their fix of ironic T-shirts, vintage clothing, flowing tunics and dorm-room décor. For shoppers disinclined to troll in clothing stores, scores of broken-in jeans from names like Diesel and True Religion are available (at an utterly retail price tag), as well as ruffled, hip-granny-style blouses and dresses from the store’s own Free People label. Also find loads of retro accessories, like chunky beaded necklaces, cork wedge heels and trucker hats galore.

Extra

Funky, 70s-inspired home accessories, like colorful shag area rugs and Asian-themed printed throw pillows, along with kitschy housewares and gifts like mod cocktail-shakers, martini glasses, and fondue sets, are Urban Outfitters staples.

A great place to stock up on back-to-school or lounging around duds. Cute little gift ideas, too. Theres not a thing wrong with urban outfitters. Casual, smart and fun to shop in. (Over 45 not admitted without accompanying teen.)

Essential for college students and recent grads

Urban Outfitters is a must for clothes or random decoration shopping for anyone in college. The clothes range from wannabe thrift store items (which I don't like) to basics (tanks and t-shirt and cords) to unusual items (sash pants, cool jackets, unique t-shirts). The apartment items are neat and perfect for student apartments.
