With a half-dozen different songs blaring throughout the premises, kiosks stocked with electronics and clothes at every intersection, a full cafe, and walls of listening stations running as far as the eye can see, the Virgin Megastore isn't shy about strutting its stuff. But maybe that's appropriate for a record store with such extensive stock in pop, rock, hip hop, country, classical, jazz, and even world music. In addition to music, there's rack upon rack of DVDs, too, plus video games, dance CDs, and a sparse selection of vinyl. The bookshelves carry what you'd expect from a trend-chasing behemoth: The Pop Culture section is larger than the Fiction & Literature one, but there's a worthy selection of art and photography books for your coffee table. — Josh Hudelson

Almost everyone knows that UK DVD's are different to USA DVD's. UK are PAL2 (or something like that)!
Perhaps you too should do a little research before buying abroad and stop blaming others for your buying mistakes! When I travel, I do research BEFORE I leave!
Further to the parent who wrote about their "utter DISGUST with the so-called management staff at the Times Square Virgin store... knowing well in advance that an event such as this was to take place... I blame the staff at the store..."
Perhaps if you had done your research, you would know that the Jonas Brothers DID NOT arrange ANYTHING with Virgin Megastores. With no care for planning and personal safety of their fans, they mentioned their planned visit to Virgin to a sold out crowd WITHOUT VIRGIN APPROVAL. When Virgin management learnt of this (through the growing crowd outside), they alerted the police to say they HAD GRAVE CONCERNS for child safety.
It was only after on-the-spot negotiations by the Virgin Management with Jonas Management and the NY Police - and the agreement that Jonas Bros would pay for extra police security that the event was able to proceed (albeit a little late) - not that they had much choice with all the upset fans that would have produced.
Perhaps the misinformed writer of the comments could contact JONAS MANAGEMENT for confirmation of this and then submit an apology to VIRGIN MANAGEMENT for the inaccurate review?
